Why We Support Palmer Home for Children

Strengthening Mississippi’s Future: Why and How We Support Palmer Home for Children

We believe strong communities build strong businesses. That’s why we are proud to support Palmer Home for Children. Palmer Home is a  Mississippi-based nonprofit that has been providing hope, stability, and healing to vulnerable children for more than a century.

A Legacy of Care in Mississippi

Founded in 1895, Palmer Home for Children serves boys and girls who have experienced abuse, neglect, abandonment, or family crisis. Through family-style residential care, educational support, and holistic programming, the organization provides more than shelter — it provides a foundation for lifelong success.

Children live in nurturing cottage homes with dedicated houseparents who offer stability, guidance, and encouragement. With access to counseling, academic support, life-skills training, and spiritual development, each child is given the opportunity to grow in confidence and resilience.

Why This Mission Matters to Us

As fellow Mississippians, we understand that investing in children today shapes the workforce and leadership of tomorrow. When children are given the tools to heal and thrive, the entire community benefits.

Supporting Palmer Home aligns with our core values:

  • Compassion – Every child deserves safety and dignity.

  • Responsibility – Businesses have a role in strengthening the communities where we operate.

  • Long-Term Impact – Sustainable change begins with investing in the next generation.

How Business Partnerships Make a Difference

Business support plays a vital role in helping support Palmer Home’s continued impact and can contribute in meaningful ways such as:

Financial Contributions

Donations help fund daily operations, educational programs, healthcare needs, and facility improvements. Consistent financial backing allows the organization to plan for long-term growth and serve more children across Mississippi.

Employee Engagement

Volunteer opportunities and service projects create hands-on ways for teams to give back. Whether assisting with events, organizing drives, or mentoring youth, employee involvement builds both community and company culture. This is our 3rd year hosting a raffle to support Palmer Home and we hope, with your help, to continue this event for many years to come. Please, if you are able, help us support Palmer Home. You can do this by purchasing a raffle ticket, donating a door prize, or simply providing moral support by attending our drawing event held at the Camphouse on February 27th, 2026.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsorships for events and initiatives not only provide critical funding but also raise awareness about the needs of children in crisis. You are able to help build awareness by booking a speaker at one of your events, becoming a mentor, scheduling a work group on campus, and much more.

The Business Case for Giving Back

Business social responsibility is more than a checkbox — it’s a strategic investment. Research consistently shows that employees are more engaged and customers are more loyal to companies that demonstrate authentic community commitment. The ERA #12MonthsofGiving program is one that we are very proud of  that keeps our team consistently involved with our community in many different ways.

By partnering with Palmer Home, businesses help:

  • Improve outcomes for at-risk youth

  • Strengthen Mississippi communities

  • Demonstrate meaningful leadership beyond the workplace
